Our Process
Preparation Work
Before opening the first paint can, we'll need to prep the space properly. Start by removing all furniture from the room, or at least moving it to the center and covering it with drop cloths. Take down any wall decorations and remove outlet covers and switch plates. Then, we clean the walls thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove dust and grime.
Prep Walls - Repair
Carefully inspect surfaces for cracks, holes, dents and other imperfections. Use spackling to fill holes. Sand the patched areas until they're smooth and even with the wall surface. For larger holes, you might need drywall patches.
Surface Protection
We protect everything you don't want painted. Use painter's tape to mask off trim, windows, and doors. Lay drop cloths or rosin paper on the floor, making sure to cover the entire area. We remember to protect your baseboards too.
Priming
If you're making a dramatic color change, covering dark colors, or painting new drywall, we'll need to prime. Apply primer evenly using a roller for large areas and a brush for edges and corners. Let it dry completely.
The Painting Process
We'll start with cutting in - that's painting the edges and corners with a brush where your roller can't reach. Work in sections, painting one wall at a time. Use our roller in a W-pattern for the most even coverage. Apply thin, even coats rather than one thick coat. Most colors will need two coats for the best results. For best results start with the ceiling first, then paint walls, and lastly the trims.
Clean-Up and Finishing
Once the paint is dry to the touch, we'll carefully remove the painter's tape at a 45-degree angle to avoid peeling the fresh paint. Wait at least 24 hours before hanging anything back on the walls.

Pro Tips
Paint when the humidity is low and the temperature is moderate - this helps the paint dry properly. We'll start at the top of the walls and work our way down to catch any drips. We always keep a damp rag handy for quick cleanup of any mistakes.
Remember: Good painting isn't about speed - it's about patience and attention to detail. We take time and care with the prep work to give you professional-looking results that last for years.
